Dr. Ashten Gallagher, Ed.D., LCSW-S, MSW
Virtual Trauma Therapy Provider. Texas BHEC approved Supervisor
Clinical Social Work Supervision
I love mentoring and supervising aspiring social workers as their clinical supervisor to move onto the next phase of their careers. What makes me qualified to be that mentor? Well, I’ve led and supervised licensed social work professionals and students in practicums and internships, mental health teams, developed training programs, and worked with multidisciplinary forensic teams to improve service delivery. I’ve worked in and been in leadership roles at places like like children’s advocacy centers, outpatient counseling services, and inpatient behavioral health systems, where I’ve consistently helped improve mental health services and professional development. My focus on trauma therapy and my role as a provider of Texas board-approved supervisor show my commitment to both individual healing and the growth of future mental health leaders (that’s you!). I’m dedicated to ensuring that all the professionals I supervise who complete supervision with me feel confident and prepared as social workers as they advance their careers.

Virtual Trauma Therapy Serving TX, OH & CA
Hi, I’m Dr. Ashten Gallagher, Ed.D., LCSW-S, MSW, a dedicated trauma therapist serving clients in Texas and Ohio, as well as the Founder and Clinical Director of CG Counseling. While I’m not a medication prescriber or medical doctor (a fun fact—anyone with a doctoral degree holds the title “Doctor”), I am a Doctor of Education specializing in Community Care and Counseling with a focus on trauma counseling. My research centers on attachment-based trauma within family systems.
With extensive real world experience in trauma-focused counseling as a clinical social worker and therapist, I’m passionate about guiding trauma survivors on their healing journeys. To ensure quality care, I use evidence-based interventions like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Cognitive Processing Therapy, tailoring each approach to meet each client’s unique needs. My dedication to trauma therapy and EMDR is grounded in both my doctoral studies and my commitment to staying informed on the latest techniques and advancements in trauma research.
Whether you choose to work with me or someone else, I wish you the very best in your therapy journey.
